Hopefully February enabled you to plan and deliver some LOVE for your body and mind? If not, it is never too late to take control. We are now heading to Spring, and as the days start drawing out it is a great time to enjoy the outdoors more and treat yourself to fresh foods from our wonderful farm shops, fish mongers, and butchers. In previous articles I haven’t shared too many secrets about myself, however, here goes, I hope it will be helpful and informative. I have a very special wedding at the end of March and have for the first time in ages had to brave the shops for the dreaded dress try on. Not the easiest of tasks when my tum, bum, hips and thighs are a bigger size than my top half! Genetic predisposition – my  family are all the same, and have had the same love of the wrong sugary foods since our early years.

I’m now in my fiftieth year and that middle aged, menopausal spread and chronic inflammation, that I’ve coached and counselled people through over the years, is now something I have been living with, and to be truthful, like many of us, just soldiering on and trying to ignore. The wedding, and thought of wearing a dress, has given me the motivation I need to get on HYPOXI and do a four-week blitz to change those body proportions and drop a dress size. I’ve had my measures and photos done, and will report back next month how I have got on. I will be pedalling a bike encased in a pod that uses compression and vacuum technology to make my circulation strong in my fat, so that for the 6 hours after HYPOXI my body will be burning targeted fats. Result! It’s not only the body that has gone south and wrinkly, the face has too! I’ve taken myself in hand, and am now on a great homecare regime and am treating myself to a course of facials at Rejuvenate in Kidderminster. I’m having a mix of Dermatude meta therapy, and Environ facials coupled with the Environ homecare. Meta Therapy is a clinically proven treatment method for skin resurfacing, anti-aging, skin tightening, hydration and restoration. The skin will get a better structure, finer pores, more firmness, elasticity and a youthful appearance. Bring it on!

Lent is 26 February – 11 April this year. I appreciate it is a Christian tradition but regardless of your religion, I think to adopt a period, 40 days being ideal, to change your diet, something about your food or drink, or electronic habits, for the better, is a great opportunity. Maybe something that was an occasional treat has drifted into a habit? Cut it out for 40 days and then it can move back to an occasional treat, or maybe you will decide you can manage without? Nobody knows until you try. What about cutting out things that drain the body and / or mind: sugar, alcohol, smoking, social media, or Chart your progress daily on the calendar. You will see how far you have got, and how much you still have left to do. Each day charted is a real accomplishment.

Once you have a certain amount of days under your belt as it were, you will see it would be a shame to fall off the wagon after you have done so much.

I would love to hear of any changes you make for the better, so please share them with me on dianne@rejuvenateathypoxi.co.uk.
